🎥 My Friend Dave — Documentary: Year 1 Glendale

Created in collaboration with SAIT Film students, My Friend Dave is a 30-minute documentary that explores the power of creativity, connection, and community through the voices of those who have lived it.

Told through the stories of Dave, Brent, Steven, Timothy, and Bulldog — men with lived experience of addiction and houselessness — the film invites us into a world where art is more than expression: it's survival, healing, and home.

Now in its first year, the My Friend Dave Project is a grassroots initiative led by art therapist Jennifer Seniuk, who shares the heart behind its mission: to use art and storytelling to restore dignity, build community, and reimagine what recovery can look like.

This isn’t a story about fixing people. It’s a story about showing up, again and again — with coffee, kindness, and the belief that everyone deserves to be seen.

At its core, My Friend Dave is a reminder that change doesn’t start with systems. It starts with a smile, a brushstroke, and the courage to create a different future — together.
